Personal Training
Sequencing and pacing of the program are essential to the success and outcomes desired. Many clients require some sort of a neuromuscular restart or muscular reconditioning. In other words, they need to be taught how to use their muscles again. This generally involves the reintroduction to and use of smaller/stabilizing muscles used to do some of the most common and the least demanding movements such as standing, sitting, walking etc. During this process it is likely to discover muscular imbalances that exist and are responsible for chronic pains and or compensatory movements that will ultimately result in pain and/or injury. (All of this affects the subsequent pacing and sequencing.) Ultimately, though, the client becomes very aware (and generally receptive) of the world of cause and effect and how it pertains to their bodies and mind and the need to reestablish balance in their life and bodies. Once the body is prepared for safe exercise, most goals (weight loss, strength training, sport specific training, muscle endurance, etc) can be reasonably attained.
